Why bodywork?

Bodywork can be a great addition to your horse’s wellness plan. While it obviously doesn’t replace veterinary care, it can help your horse recover faster from an injury, or keep him feeling great while in training. We love to learn, and are always looking to add more to our toolbox. We enjoy working as a team with other professionals, and it is often helpful to coordinate bodywork with chiropractic and/or acupuncture, as many horses get a synergistic effect from combining modalities.

Check out our Bodywork Resources page for links that we commonly recommend in our session notes for owners.

MagnaWave PEMF

“Every organ in our body produces it’s own bio-electromagnetic field. MagnaWaving is a way to enhance those energy fields to improve cellular functioning. MagnaWave delivers health enhancing PEMFs to the cells.”
”MagnaWave positively charges blood cells so that they repel one another (like-magnetic charges repel), making it impossible for them to stick together. This maximizes the ability of the blood cells to perform their tasks in the capillaries of all the major organs. The work of the lungs, liver, intestines and kidneys is optimized when proper and full blood flow can take place. When the blood is oxygenated, so are the organs and tissues, reducing disease which can produce imbalances and sickness.”
”MagnaWave benefits cellular energy, resulting in better cellular health and function, which allows the body to more efficiently process the electrical and chemical exchanges associated with those channels and address imbalances or dysfunctions in those areas – leading to improved adaptation and natural healing.”

Massage

“Massage is generally considered part of complementary and integrative medicine. It's increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.

Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension.”

We incorporate a mixture of techniques, including sports massage, myofascial release, and trigger point work.

Sure Foot Pads

“A unique, innovative way for the horse to be his own teacher. Developed by Wendy Murdoch, this revolutionary way of improving your horse’s balance, confidence, movement and performance shows that the horse is always present and ready to learn if we can only find ways to access his intelligence. This approach allows the horse to experience his own habitual patterns of movement and provides the horse with an opportunity to explore and learn new ways of standing on his feet and utilizing the ground for greater ease, comfort and confidence.”

As we are not authorised Sure Foot Pad Practitioners yet, we are experimentally incorporating these into bodywork sessions at no extra charge. Please let us know if you’re interested in trying them out for your horse!
